Carmen Corbasson Community Centre To Close Soon For Two-Year Renovation Project

MISSISSAUGA: On June 20, 2022, the Carmen Corbasson Community Centre will close to the public for renovations. The closure marks the start of a twoyear renovation project for the Ward 1 community centre. Construction is set to begin the first week of July.

The project includes renovating and building a new addition that will improve the quality of recreation services, implementing higher accessibility and green building standards to improve energy efficiency and savings, and reducing the City’s carbon footprint.

“Renovating Carmen Corbasson Community Centre is part of our efforts to enhance the recreation programs and services that we offer to our community members,” said Mayor Bonnie Crombie.

“We’re committed to improving facility sustainability, accessibility and safety features while also providing the top-quality programming that the City of Mississauga has become known for. We look forward to welcoming back residents once renovations are complete.”

The community centre will reopen in fall 2024. Once completed, the renovated facility will include:

• A fitness centre with cardio machines, weights and fitness studio with wood sprung floor

• A new aquatics centre with a 25-metre, six-lane pool and a warm water therapy pool

• A new multi-purpose space

• Enhancements to existing multi-purpose spaces
